ChangeGuard+ ("we", "our", "the Service") provides shared financial relationship management for freelancers, agencies, businesses, and any two parties exchanging money. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using ChangeGuard+, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never as plaintext).
- Agreement data: agreement titles, counterparty names and email addresses, descriptions, amounts, and statuses that you or another user enter.
- Transaction data: charges, payments, descriptions, amounts, and due dates associated with your agreements.
- Communications: messages you send us for support.
Information collected automatically
- Device information and app version for compatibility and troubleshooting.
- Log data related to API requests, including timestamps and error conditions.
- Authentication tokens issued after login.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect precise location data.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or files.
- We do not process payments through the Service; any payment between users occurs outside ChangeGuard+ and is only recorded as a transaction entry.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, maintain, and operate the Service.
- Deliver emails related to your account (verification, password reset, agreement approvals, transaction notifications, and account deletion confirmation).
- Enable counterparties to view and act on agreements you share with them.
- Protect the Service against abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Diagnose technical issues and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With counterparties. When you create an agreement, the counterparty you invite can see the agreement's title, description, amount, and any transaction activity in it. When you are invited to an agreement as a counterparty, you can see the same information.
- With service providers. We use an email delivery service to send transactional emails. That provider only sees the recipient address and the content of the email.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or similar legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of ChangeGuard+, our users, or the public.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers protected by industry-standard security measures, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and encrypted storage of sensitive credentials.
Passwords are never stored in plaintext. Authentication uses signed tokens with a limited lifetime.
No system is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active.
When you delete your account:
- Your account information, the agreements you created, and the transactions in those agreements are permanently deleted.
- Agreements where you were a counterparty are not deleted, because they belong to the other participant. Your participation in them ends, and no new activity will be attributed to your deleted account.
- We retain a one-way cryptographic hash of your email address for a limited period for the purpose of fraud prevention and to record that a deletion occurred. This hash cannot be reversed to recover your email address.
6. Your Rights and Choices

8. International Users
ChangeGuard+ is operated from servers that may be located outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to those servers.
9. Cookies and Tracking
